2 Months

We can't believe our little boy is two months today. He's definitely putting on weight. He now has rolls around his upper thighs. He weighed 10 lbs 2 oz (while wearing a dry diaper)  a week and a half ago. His two month check-up is next week. We're curious to see what he weighs then and how tall he is.

Owen's doing fantastically well except the little bit of trouble he's having with gas lately, which makes for a fairly uncomfortable baby. He's smiling, cooing, and talking a lot, which is a lot of fun. The other day while I was bouncing him to sleep, without being prompted and his eyes wide open, he looked up at me and smiled as if to say, "Ha ha, I'm not going to sleep," little stinker. He is a very alert little boy.

Owen continues to sleep less than your average newborn. Thankfully he is a pretty great night sleeper; usually sleeping between three and a half to five hours (three times he's almost slept six hours, I felt like a new woman the next morning), followed by a short feeding, another two and a half hour sleep, another feeding and finally another one to two hour sleep. However, during the day, roughly between 6:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., he's been known to sleep as little as two hours. He averages about 13 hours a day, compared to the 15-16 average. He also now thinks it's a fun game to fall asleep in my arms and then wake when I try to put him down. Mom does not think that is a fun game.

We enjoy each and every day with him.
